Review Notes: Upon first lighting this cigar I thought "oh boy, this cigar is gonna kick my ass." The first third was very strong with little flavor, then settled down to a nice maduro profile. Coffee and semi-sweet cocoa with a nice oak flavor and some earthiness to it. It also dialed down to a med.-full strength and got sweeter towards the end of the smoke. This cigar looked very nice, a good Penn. broadleaf with exl. const., no touch-ups were needed. I got this in a sampler pack for $2.50, an exl. deal. I just might spring for a box of these at around $60.00, a very good price.

Review Notes: Wrapper is dark and pretty but has very little oil. Easy to light and maintains its even burn without any work. Produces a fair amount of medium-full bodied smoke. As far as flavor goes, there isn’t much: initially there is quite a lot of spice, but this fades into…nothing. There is a slight toastiness and the finish is earthy, but there isn’t much more to the flavor of this cigar. There are much better maduros out there. At least it was cheap ($2.78). In summary: well-built and pretty, but lacks flavor.

Review Notes: Got this in the Black Friday sampler from CI. One of 13 sticks. With bove average construction and looks, I had no problem until after I took the band off, and the wrapper started to unravel a bit, not split. Strength is low end of full body, but nice. Did not have the sweet wrapper flavor that I enjoy on many maduros. This one lasted me almost 2 hours! For an average price of $2.40 , I will continue to smoke them when I buy more samplers. This one is NOT A DUD!
