| Notes: To create the Ruination, the strongest Cuban-seed ligeros were taken from the top growing regions of Nicaragua and Honduras and chosen based on quality, combustion, appearance, and level of flavor and aroma. These leaves were then introduced to an extensive fermentation and aging process for optimum flavor, prior to being blended within a beautiful Habano Ecuador ligero wrapper. This leaf is gorgeous....dark, oily, reddish in color, and thick in nature. Expect a generous dose of spice off the bat, followed by a deep series of oak, earth, toast, sweet wood, and leather throughout the slow and super-cool burn. The finish is long, while the robust aroma fills the room as you approach the full-bodied, full-flavored nub. |

Review Notes:
I've probably smoked about 80 Ruinations in the last year. This is my favorite vitola of the bunch. This is just a delicious, well made, good looking cigar. One of my favorites and a go to in my humidor. It starts off a little harsh at times (which I kind of like), but that harshness is minimized with a few months of aging. Past the first inch it settles down into this oaky, cocoa, sweet but somewhat peppery flavor that I can't seem to get enough of. This cigar is one of the better made cigars I've had the pleasure to smoke. The burn line just stays razor sharp and straight rarely needing a touch up.
I highly, highly recommend this cigar!

Review Notes:
Cut well but had some slight difficulty on the draw. There was also some bleeding on the wrapper (although minor). Aside from those negatives and a very brief, slight sour taste halfway through, this was a very enjoyable smoke. The nice woodsy taste developed though the first half of the stick and then about 60% through, there was a very tasty sweet almond taste.

Review Notes:
I have decided to give a 2nd review of this cigar a year after I purchased a box of 20. I have smoked over half of the box as of now. The one I had last night, did not burn so well. I had to touch it up several times and it started tunneling. It may be a humidity problem, as my hygrometer is down to 60%. I am not giving up on the Ruination, but feel the smaller sizes may do better.

Review Notes:
This cigar is pretty spectacular. Its blend is similar, I think, with the likes of Diesel, Cain, Chisel, as it is a strong ligero blend. I purchased this box of 20 at auction for about 4.70 each, placing it more expensive than diesel, but less than the cain or the chisel. What makes the Robusto #2 really different on first glance is the immensity of the size of the stick. It is a huge 6 x 60! To move on, the appearance of the cigar is amazing. Nice dark oily wrapper, with a sheen and only the slightest amount of toothiness. The band is bold and thick and very attractive. The clipping and lighting went extremely well. The burn was excellent througout the whole cigar, which in my past experience, has been somewhat unusual for a cigar of this ring gauge. No touchups at all were necessary. The strenght of this cigar is very full bodied, which is exactly what I like. The cigar lasted almost an hour and a half. Typical flavors of chocolate, vanilla and spice. Good complexity kept me from being bored with the stick as I smoked it outside sitting under a hooded swing with my girlfriend. I thoughouly enjoyed the entire 90 minutes smoking this one, and I can't wait to do it again. I am glad I have 19 more of these in my humidor.
