Review Notes:This was a great cigar. It was cloaked in a light brown oily wrapper. The draw is perfect. Even though it was a little dry (I should have waited), the flavor was fantastic. It opened up with spice then quickly came into it's element with a sweet and nutty notes. Smooth. Balanced. Dynamic. And Tasty...

Review Notes:But I still buy them by the box, because when they're on, they can't be beat. The construction is the problem with these, not the flavor. I will eat the 2-5 per box that are plugged or tunnel, just because the good ones are soooo good! Even the plugged ones taste good, but you gotta pop a blood vessel to get the smoke out of them. When you get a good one... Whoo! Smoked just such an example this morning as a pat on the back for a good job.
Handsome and oily, with a dark, almost colorado wrapper showing some veins and a good weight in my hand. Smoke is indescribable, but I'll try: sweet, cedary, rich tobacco, with leathery notes and vanilla wisps that appear and fade out again.. And that's just the 1st third! Flavors grow in depth and intensity throughout, being overcome by intense leather and coffee and gaining in spice, but still remaining smooth and sweet all the way to it's final crescendo. The aroma is sweet, almost like toffee and cedary, turning intense and more like freshly roasted coffee beans toward the finale. I normally let cigars burn out at around 50mm, but these I need a clip for sometimes! It makes me want to light another as soon as it's over, it was so good! What a ride! HIGHLY recommended, but keep a single-flame torch handy to deal with the inevitable burn corrections and buy a few of them, checking the foot of each for a too-tight bunch (to avoid having your birthday cigar be too plugged to enjoy). Expensive, yes. Worth it? Yup. A must-try, must-buy everytime you get the chance. I rate these from 75 for a poorly built one, to 93 for a well-built, aged specimen. One of my favorites.. But be ready to be disappointed every now and then. Beware of fakes!
