Review Notes: A very well balanced little corona with some complexity to keep things interesting -- tangy in the upper register, earthy in the lower, with some bean flavors and a dash of pepper to keep things moving along. A little tight on the draw, but that's my only criticism. I could smoke these all day long and not get tired of em.

Review Notes: This is Aerosmith's Steve Tyler's favorite cigar according to a C.A. article about 4 years ago. I recall the article because he provides advice about how to smoke a cigar correctly. He advises people when smoking a cigar (especially Cuban cigars) to exhale through the nose in order to experience the full flavor and potential of a good cigar. I was one of those guys that just sucked in the smoke and kept it in my mouth but when I read this article I happened to have a box of Monte #4's. I smoked them per Steve Tyler and WOW what a difference! The #4's are great cigars. They have a peppery and spicy taste with medium to full bodied aroma. Thanks for the advice, Steve!

Review Notes: I've been addicted to the pleasures of cigars for about a year now. Can't stop smoking 'em, buying 'em and reading about 'em. Let me start off with a trajedy on par with Bill Shakespeare. My very first Cuban was a Cohiba that a girl bought me on a cruise (musta cost her a pretty penny). I thanked her and proceeded to place it on my desk. There it sat for 7 or 8 months...collecting dust. Until it finally got knocked off and the wrapper busted right off. (That was one way to get the dust off). Well, I may be dumb but I'm not just gonna throw away a Cuban without seeing what all the hubub is about. I lit it up, took a few puffs, and chucked it in the toilet...MY GOD this thing tastes like crap (or...like it had been sitting on a desk collecting dust for almost a year). Having some friends that always talked about their cigars, I told 'em..."yea, I smoked a Cuban and gotta tell ya...not all that impressed". I KNOW! Since then I've seen the light (and bought a few humidors). This little pc was my second experience. MUCH BETTER! I smoked it after eating lunch on the Upper Gauley in WV. A class 5 white water rapids (I had it triple protected). Anyone who doesn't believe there's psychology that goes with your mood and anticipation is just blowin' smoke. The cigar did have an uneven burn the 1st 3rd, but self-corrected. Nice draw. This is a mild-med gar. Not a firm ash, but okay...and it was more black than white. Consistent throughout with some spice and a "grassiness" that I had a hard time putting my finger on, other than this must be the 'Cuban' flavor that makes them unique. I thoroughly enjoyed this given my anticipation and my setting. Don't think I'd spend the $$$ it takes an American to get a box...but, I definitely recommend for special occassions.
