Review Notes: I cant begin to explain how amazing I think this cigar is. Im not a seasoned smoker, mostly because I cant afford to smoke more than a couple sticks a week, so I can understand if there's someone out there that thinks the No. 2 is too mild. But this last one I tried blew me away. I've tried the Artes and a few smaller Monte's, and didn't find them extraordinary. I picked up this baby at a pretty snobby cigar shop in the next town over, cost me $20!!! But let me tell you, I didnt finish smoking the first one before I went back and bought 2 more for some friends to try. The torpedo look isnt my favorite, but I doesnt bother me. However, the sheen on this mastercrafted piece of art was exquisite. The smell was intoxicating, and the consistancy of the wrapping was exemplary. This is by far the creamiest, smoothest, most subtly flavored cigar I have ever tried. The nutty and cocoa flavors are unparalleled. Give it a shot, you WILL NOT be disappointed.

"Never had a bad Monte!"

Review Notes: I don't care what anyone says. I love Montecristo and always have! I like the Cuban ones better, but I also like the D.R.s. This is what is cigar is supposed to be like. Smooth and mellow. Beautiful, even burn with thick, white-layered ash that hangs on for almost 2". The flavor is so creamy and smooth that I want to inhale at times. Lots of nuttiness on the palate and notes of chocolate too. Never leaves a bad aftertaste. The label on mine had a gold crest in the middle. I don't know if they changed the label from the crest being white to gold, or this was possibly a different line than the Monte #2. All I know is the flavor was typical of a Monte and although expensive, these cigars are worth it as opposed to some other "Premium" cigars, which I wouldn't pay more than a couple bucks for. My Uncle gave me this one and a corona at Christmas, so I don't know what the price paid was. The MSRP is $12, so I'll just use that.

Review Notes: Smoked 2 in one day 4/23/05, first was really smooth with light(and I mean light) flavors of far, far away tea and expresso, the second was very, very, very light with flavors of air and that would be about it. I have been smoking Monte Tubos #1 for quite some years, and felt it was time to throw down on a #2. I will never do that again. I't basically so mild, it was nonexistent. If you like Michelob Ultra this may be for you, if you drink real beer.......FUHGETTABOUTITT!

"Disappointing"

Review Notes: Forget that this Dominican version pales in comparison to the Cuban version. The # 2 is at best average compared to most cigars I've smoked and because of its high price it has no chance of making my regular rotation. The cap is annoyingly small which takes a bit of an effort to get a good draw and the flavor is quite average and bland.
