"Outstanding smoke"

Review Notes: The Montecristo Media Noche line is one of my top 3 smokes. The only size I haven't tried is the Edmundo, but I have a sampler pack of all 4 sizes coming in, so I'll hit for the cycle in a week or two! The Churchill is incredible. It took close to 3 hours to finish and I had no burn or draw problems. I think RedBeard hit it right on the head - this cigar does not need to be overhumidified. It's so packed with thick, oily tobacco that too much humidity will probably swell the filler slightly, causing draw issues. The flavor seems to show chocolate, coffee, and a slight cinnamon or nutmeg that is offset by a slightly more noticeable white pepper twinge. The flavors ebb and flow, providing an entertaining experience for the palate. I like to pair the Media Noche Churchill with a spiced rum and Coke Zero, or a strong mug of coffee.

"Big and relaxing"

Review Notes: I personally found this big boy to be just what the doctor ordered. A long slow relaxing smoke with good flavor and no burn problems. I won a 5-pack on C-bid of these and just finished the last one. First I let em rest at 65% humidity for a few months, and that means no brun problems. I also injoyed the flavors of the this big boy. I have to agree with the flavors mentioned, earthy with nuts and leather, no bitterness at all. And a slight sweetness to it. It's no woth the retail though, most arn't though.

"Sets the standard"

Review Notes: The Montecristo Media Noche was a work of art from start to finish. As an inexperienced cigar smoker, the Media Noche has set the bar for which excellence in cigars is to be measured. The 7.0" x 58 Churchill is a power broker's stick that commands respect. It was quite comfortable to hold. This cigar was firm and it was immediately apparent that it could take a bit of roughhousing. The Media Noche had quite a pleasant almost earthy aroma prelight. The craftsmanship was immaculate. The Connecticut broadleaf maduro wrapper was tightly wrapped and didn't flake on the cut. The ash was solid and tidy and held on for 2 1/2 inches or better. The burn was a little uneven at first but self corrected about 1/3 of the way down. Draw was smooth and pleasant and offered a mild but sweet, rich and tasty smoke that was easy on the palate. The first 1/3 was characterized by a delectable blend of earthy and leathery notes that was quite good. Some spice, not overpowering, popped up here and there after the first 1/2. This cigar was a pleasure to smoke from start to finish as I did not want to put it down. At $15.00, this cigar seemed pricey but I would have easily paid $20.00. I certainly want to keep a few of these in my humidor but at $230.00 a box that seems like a long shot, maybe after my tax return. Overall a fantastic cigar, definitely my favorite thus far as I am excited about trying out others in the Montecristo arsenal. Top notch, world class cigar.

"A be easy cigar"

Review Notes: Aesthetics(9): Smooth semi-oily thick Conn. Broadleaf, very apealing considering 7"x58 gauge. Very light tabacco auroma with little or no veins. I mistook the wrapper for a Maduro. Construction(7): Considering the mammoth size of this mandingo, it burned some of it's own mistakes off automatically. I was impressed at this. Draw was easier after the first 1/3rd burned. I naturally smoke quick, so the uneven first 1/3rd was probably my fault. The cigar ash on this baby was thick, sturdy and as tidy as a mexican maid. The smoke never reached an uncomfortable temperature, even down to the nub (Which I actually smoked with a Gerber). Stregth/Flavor(8): Very unique flavors. I read some other reviews before smoking this cigar and the "earth flavors" and "undertones of nuts" that others have written was pretty much on point with what I tasted. Little to no aftertaste involved. I like that in a churchill, especially one like this that burned for nearly 90 minutes. General Comments: Overall, this expensive cigar was definately worth trying. Our herf was impressed with its flavors, burn time and origin. A total of 6 of us buned these churchills at the same time and all of us were impressed. I would like to get these when I can find them for under $10.00. I think that would be a reasonable deal for what I am calling a "Be Easy" Cigar.

"Big disappointment"

Review Notes: Looked pretty, that's the high point. A bit on the soft side, wrapper itself seems to have introduced a bitter taste. Slight uneven light worked out, but once past half way a radical uneven burn developed.
