Review Notes:
Looked good and strong with very dark, oily wrapper. Kind of prepares you... and indeed a pretty strong, but not too much so, smoke. Tasted kind of sweet, draw was in the middle, burn was even. It was a little dry, (mail order), so it probably had more potential. I would not pay the full 8-9$ though.

Review Notes:
I could smoke Montecristos every day, and would if I could afford them. I've smoked the Cubans and the Dominicans in all shapes and sizes and loved them all...with the exception of the Platinum. The V had all the traditional Monte features. Sure, it may not have been exploding with strength, but I don't like my cigars to be overbearing to the point where I can't enjoy the subtle flavors. The V had delicious flavors of cocoa and coffee bean and definitely full of nuttiness. It was also very balanced. It burnt perfectly even and the ash was pure white, long, and perfectly layered, like most Montecristos. The finish was short, but very clean...the way I like it. Can never go wrong with the Montecristo, at least in my opinion.

Review Notes:
This was my first foray into the MC line...and it was a pleasure. Great construction, even burn, tight draw...and most importantly, top notch flavor wafting over the palate. I am a regular Don Carlos/Hemingway smoker and this was a real treat...not my favorite...but certainly in the team picture.

Review Notes:
OK, I've tried several different Montecristos now, hoping that one of them would finally be worth the price (even the $6 average sampler pack price). I have been disappointed in almost ALL of them, as they are too mild and flat for the price, and I'm a wimp about spices! It's a well-constructed cigar, good even burn, good draw, but...ho hum. Now to the Serie V robusto. I actually liked this a lot more than any of the other ones I've tried, and look forward to smoking the other two I have after some aging in the humidor. Started out with hints of coffee and pepper, then went to a leathery taste, which remained throughout. I didn't actually mind that the flavor leveled out since leathery cigars tend to sort of level out anyway. A very strong ammonia taste came quickly before the cigar got close to the band, so you aren't going to be able to smoke this one down to the nub. Still pricey for this cigar, why does this company continue to overprice their cigars!? All said and done, I would get one of these in the future, but I won't regularly stock this cigar because of the price.
