"Wonderland"

Review Notes: I'm not sure about the name? It might be a reference to the white rabbit in "Alice in Wonderland" or maybe it's when you smoke this cigar a good deal of the ash becomes very white. Also mentioned as a possible reason was that there are hints of vanilla (therefore, white?). Well whatever the origin, I found the White Rabbit surprisingly tasty. No, it's not going to win any awards, but I found it a "plain good cigar". I didn't experience any draw problems with the two I smoked. In fact, the burn was near perfect and the draw was fine and it didn't get hot on me despite the long, thin shape. I realize that this is a Drew Estate and some will like it a lot and others will be put off by it's uniqueness. It also helped that I paid only $3 a cigar on C-bid. Oh well, it's down the rabbit hole with old smokehole.

"Still not my thing"

Review Notes: I tried another one of these last night at a party. I still just don't find this cigar to be my cup of tea. I could see someone liking it though. It was not as plesantly aromatic as some of DE's cigars. Intriguing is not enough.

"A bit elusive"

Review Notes: I cannot speak highly enough of Drew Estate's various lines and experiments. A standard cigar is great, but DE offers so many different changes of pace that I, as a --gasp-- modern smoker really enjoy. The good acids are powerfully flavorful and aromatic...the ambrosias are spicy and floral and smack of genuine experimentation, and the Natural line are so close to normal sticks but are uniquely sweet and wonderfully mellow. The White Rabbit is not the best example of the line though....it's shape disagreed with (long thin cigars tend to), and it drew with difficulty. Way too much air. The flavor was still consistently good, but not as pronounced as the excellent Root.

"Surprised"

Review Notes: A buddy had to clean out one of his humidors to make room for some new sticks, so he decided to get rid of about 20 of these things. He gave them to me. I put off smoking these for a few days, but finally tried one. It wasn't bad, actually it was pretty good. The flavor reminds me of pipe tobacco and so did the smell. When I fired this thing up, my wife said it smelled just like my pipe. I noticed the flavor about the same time. The biggest difference between this cigar and my pipe is the finish. The finish is weird, kind of peppery with a strange after taste. The construction was somewhat off, as this cigar was tight on the draw, but burn fairly even. Overall, I will enjoy smoking the rest of these sticks, but don't know if I will buy any more once there gone.

"First natural"

Review Notes: Ok, I picked up a sampler of these naturals and this is my first review (there will be more). I found this cigar's look to be unique, but not necessarily appealing. It just looked...fragile. And it was rather brittle. I use a circle punch most of the time, and it usually prevents much tearing or unraveling, but not in this case. The cigar burned a bit unevenly, but I did not mind the flavor. It was a very subtle vanilla flavor throughout. The aroma was good as well. If I had not gotten these off of cigarbid.com for 1/2 the regular price, I might be a bit upset, but as it is, I will smoke another soon.
