"Two months makes a difference."

Review Notes: After not really much time in the humidor this stick has picked up the pace. Lesson learned: ďDonít make harsh decisions on cigars without a little rest before lighting.Ē The second time around this cigar is different than two months ago with two exceptions. "Itís still ugly as hell and the burn could be better." If the burn were better the taste which has become creamy smooth and earthy flavorful would most likely improve even more. It will be interesting to see if this sticks future mimics Scottys experience with the torpedo. If so I have three more in the humi and better get smoking before they turn to s_ _ t.

"Subpar maduro"

Review Notes: Was expecting a lot after seeing the 93 rating and what some have been saying. Construction is somewhat shoddy, with a very light weight feeling cigar that was not even. The wrapper was very dark (maduro) and seemed like it could be dyed although no dyes came off. Burn was uneven and ash was loose. Prelight smell was nice but taste was mediocre at best with a slightly sweet tobacco, leather, coffee profile. I went to reach for a Padron maduro after only smoking half of one.

Review Notes: After reading the CI catalogue about this cigar I was excited as hell to see it come to the door. Couldnít wait more than a day or two to fire this baby up and enjoy a 93 rated treasure. Yuk! Naaa thatís to strongÖ.Yuk! There thatís a little better. I was disappointed. First it looked like someone had dyed the damn thing and the construction on the 1st two I opened was anything but good. It was spicy at first and maintained a chemical taste for the first inch or so then smoothed out to a truly forgettable smoke. My problem is I have four more of these things in the humidor and canít believe for a second that they will get THAT much better. Guess weíll find out. Burned uneven, smoke wasnít bad but the ash was a dirty dark grey color and flaky. Canít recommend these at all.

"Maddie"

Review Notes: Tonight I am smoking another cigar that Borndead gave me, the Nestor Reserve Maduro Toro, which have the darkest wrapper I have ever seen. This is the second of two he gave me and I just had to share my experience with you. It is a 6 x 54, Honduran/Mexican/Nicaraguan filler, Nicaraguan binder wrapped in a dark Nicaraguan wrapper. It appeared it could be dyed, but it left no marks on my lips or fingers; therefore, the tobacco might have been baked/cured for darkening reasons. If that was neither case I am amazed how black this smoke is. Pre-light aroma was toothy and I went for the kill with my torch. At first the flavor was a little grassy with a toothy maduro finish. I told myself this is a full-bodied stick. The flavor started to develop into spice, leather and cream; like that of a cafť latte without sugar. The second half matured into semi-sweet chocolate! Just the way I like it. Additionally, all the way through my smoke I could taste hints of cedar. What is amazing occasionally you can pick these up for $2 per stick on a box purchase. For the money this s an enjoyable smoke.

Review Notes: I bought a box of these about 1 month ago based on online recommendations. Not impressed. Some cigars cracked and disfigured.
