Review Notes: Beautiful black maduro rich and creamy. Starts out peppery but settles down after an inch into a medium to heavy smoke. Definitely expresso and licorise tasting.

"Just plain terrific"

Review Notes: This cigar is all that a medium to full bodied maduro should be. I agree with some other reviews that it needed to settle down to enjoy the subtle spice, chocolate and coffee undertones. Generous smoke and an even burn added to the enjoyment of this cigar. A very good value at less than $6.00

Review Notes: A very generous and well respected Eastern attorney sent me a couple of these as part of a recent bombing, and they were so pretty I couldn't resist. Bearing a linen band of navy embroidered with bright gold thread that reminded me of an old Crown Royal bag, the cigar was a dark oscuro in color and the oily surface shone like the moon on a northwoods lake. There was a texture to the wrapper, a fine, dense tooth that felt lovely. The construction was flawless with a dense roll and a perfect cap. The cigar was solid and firm to the touch and possessed a heady cedar pre light aroma. I touched the cut head with my tongue and was rewarded with a satisfying tingle. The draw was perfect and the cigar took to the match with a slow light that allowed the dark rich flavor to muscle in immediately. Hints of semi sweet chocolate and mandarin orange flittered around the solid cedar and rich tobacco core, and the cigar burned dead even all the way through. The ash was medium gray and showed a concentric roll that added to the solid and firm consistency. It tapped off cleanly at regular intervals and left a shallow cone that glowed muted orange like a coastal sunset. I enjoyed the cigar after a filling bowl of homemade beef stew and biscuits and I'm glad that I had a meal under my belt because the cigar was medium full with a subtle strength that was very satisfying. The flavor matured throughout, at one point providing a mighty burst of roasting coffee while displaying a recurring theme of lush vegetation. The alluring aroma beckoned, smooth and pleasant and filled the room, and the decadent finish alluded to well aged cedar and sweet molasses with just a tinge of acididity. This was a slow burning cigar, well paced and measured, and my patience in smoking it was rewarded by 90 minutes of relaxed pleasure. The overall impression was of refined elegance. Polished and blended to perfection, the cigar is a masterpiece of tobacco art. I nubbed this cigar in front of the fireplace and at the end, as my fingertips burned, it left me wanting more. Highly recommended.

"Not as good as its bigger brother"

Review Notes: This line of cigars starts off harsh and too spicy for the first ten minutes. Then they settle down for a while and become a very good smoke .The robusto is too short a smoke for this particular blend.
