Review Notes: This smoke starts out very spicy but evens out quickly into a smooth, yet med-strong taste. While it is a good smoke, i compare to some of the other Olivas and it is found wanting. Smoke - 5/10 Appearance - 8/10 Cool burn - 9/10 Construction - 8/10 Draw - 8/10 Burn time - 90+ min Stays lit - 10/10 Flavor - 6/10 Aftertaste - 7/10 Complexity - 6/10 Price / value ratio - 7/10

"Reminded me why I smoke cigars"

Review Notes: Recently, I've been trying to smoke some milder cigars just to keep things fresh. Problem with some milds is that they start off dry/harsh and don't improve much. Well, this cigar has ended that dry spell. A medium bodied smoke that left a nice sweet after-taste in the mouth, almost no harshness or bitterness at all. Draw was perfect, but IMO, the box press is a little too severe, feels odd in the hand but it's just aesthetics. Agree that the ash is a little flaky, but it easily held past an inch. The last third of the stick was a little more spicy/hot/peppery, but probably because I rushed it. I don't care for spice in a cigar. I thought the Serie V was supposed to be the "lead singer" of the Oliva brand, but the Serie G has enough material for it's own solo album. I've said it in other Oliva reviews, but I'll say it again, try one of them. Any of them. I'm glad I did.

"It's better than that"

Review Notes: This cigar, if purchased from a reliable retailer and stored properly (for at least a few months) will provide a better than average smoke. If you tend to "hit it" too frequently it will tend to get bitter toward the end...but that's not uncommon. Get some...rest 'em...try them...then relax and enjoy them. And above all...try and keep some perspective.

"Toro maduro"

Review Notes: Not so good. I tried because of the rating and I am disappointed. I reviewed the S series a while back and not much has swayed my thinking. Puro holds no ash at all--all flake that I do not need in my lap and was very distracting. Areas of uneven burn and stem/leaf vein strays on 3 occasions. Nice thick spice throughout. Now if they could get quality control--they would have a great stick.
