Review Notes: This cigar has it all, a perfect draw(most of the time), perfect burn and the flavor is amazing. At first you cant pick up the flavors because this cigar is a flavor bomb. But after smoking 5 or so you can pick up the coffee and cedar flavors that dominate this cigar. GREAT CIGAR WITH A BETTER VALUE=BUY!!!

"Consistently good."

Review Notes: Probably the single most consistent cigar I've smoked. After having gone through about a box and half worth, I haven't found a single dud in the bunch. Flavorful, smooth and powerful. Still the only cigar in my humidor that lets me know that there's some nicotine in there (even more so than 601 Green, LFDs and DPG Blues). The construction is almost perfect. Draw/burn is excellent (I store these all around 65% RH). And if you like the taste/flavor of Ligero, you'll love these. If you don't, you might want to skip these. Is it a 94 rated cigar? No. I'd certainly put it in the 90 range, but the 94+ range, I think is reserved for the likes of Padron 40th. But the 'V' series is a consistent 90 range cigar. Just a word of advice: These really, REALLY benefit from some time in the humidor. At the very least, let them "rest" a few weeks before lighting them up. After a few months, they really come into their own. I suspect a couple of years will allow them to develop even more. The oldest I've smoked was around 9 months so that last part is just speculation. Of the three vitolas I've tried: Double Robusto, Lanceros and Torpedos, I think the Torpedo is the best of the bunch.

"Nice... but too strong?"

Review Notes: I love full flavor smokes. Naturally, anything Oliva is OK by me, this torpedo included. I have tried several sizes of Series V and my opinion is that this cigar is quite nice, but it is so rich and strong that I was asking myself if it was too strong for me. Definately not a daily cigar, at least not for me. Any subtle notes were overpowered by the amount of "POW" it had. Strap on your seatbelt for this one, it is one of the richest and strongest I have ever smoked.

"Reasonable, but suspicious about the rating"

Review Notes: I personaly believe that CA sometimes gets the pick of the litter from the manufacture, or somehting of the sort. Because several smokes I've purchased following high reviews have been lacking. This is one of those situations. I purchased a box of torpedos lit one on delievery and was disapointed, lit one after 6 months in the hummy and again the same unfinished bland tobacco, tried another after nearly a year and still boring. I think the cigar is decent for the price and has been getting slightly better, but I don't believe it is worthy of anything higher than maybe 89-90ish.

"One Dimensional- But Good!"

Review Notes: I landed two boxes right after CA rated them 94. Have been again in the cabinet for a year and lit one up last night. Nice semi-oily wrapper, solid and well built. Nice sharp even burn and good draw. Overall it had a nice spicy taste and richness which lasted thoughout.
