Review Notes: I don't know. Maybe I'm not in step with all the aficiondos. For all the hype, I expected to be blown away. I was disappointed to say the least. Maybe it's just the crop or the box mine came in. I was all excited when I came across these because of the buzz they get. I got two of these and a robusto. I'll keep the robusto for some day. The other one of these I'll probably give to a buddy.

Review Notes: Had problems with this tasty Opus X going out after just a few puffs and this continued through the first 2 thirds of the cigar. The final 3rd was flawless in taste and stayed lit. I like Opus alot, but this size has had repeated burn problems of late. Happens with other sizes too but I have always had excellent luck with the hard to find Petit Lancero.

Review Notes: Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad cigar. But it isn't nearly as great as all the hype. Perhaps they have the same mystique as Cuban cigars, the lack of availability. Do NOT pay more than suggested retail, and they are barely worth that. They are not nearly worth the 20-30 dollar price for a single cigar, which many web sites are asking. For those who have never smoked one, you are not missing anything out of the ordinary. There were problems with the wrapper, which unraveled a bit after I smoked about a quarter of the way down. I would not expect this from a Fuente cigar. It lacks any type of complexity of flavor. A dull straight-forward tobacco taste, with cedar traits, which may be from the cedar wrap it comes in. I have had better cigars at a fraction of the price, and I paid retail. I have about 30 singles, which I purchased at retail, and acquired through various trades, before realizing that they are no big "shmeal." I would not hesitate to sell, trade, or give some to friends. Considering all the hype, a major disappointment.

Review Notes: My wife asked a buddy from work, to pick these up for me. When he gave them to her, he also gave her an empty box from a cheap liquor store brand to put them in. He told her to watch my expression, as I opened the package and tried to look thankful for a gift of terrible smokes. To make a long story short, once I opened the box, and those wonderful Opus X bands and cedar sleeves triggered an instant feeling of joy. There is no real need to discuss how these sticks taste, we all know they are excellent. The draw was as easy as a well packed pipe, and the burn was flawless. I've enjoyed every puff that I have taken from these cigars and look forward to smoking the rest of them on special occasions in the future.

Review Notes: A cedar sleeve partially covers the always beautiful reddish-brown wrapper. The draw is perfect and produces an enormous amount of aromatic smoke; the burn is farly even but I had to relight a few times after ashing, which was a surprise. The initial spiciness seems overwhelming, but it's balanced by cedary flavors at first and then earthy and coffee flavors later. Complex and full-bodied with a long, long finish. Too pricey to smoke all the time, but definitely a great smoke.
