Review Notes: Bought a box two years ago. Tried one and was disappointed. Opened the box this evening after two years and this cigar ranked among the best. Dark oily wrapper, supurb construction, perfect draw and near perfect burn. Intoxicating aroma and flavors. This is a very nice cigar- but let it several years to develop!

"Not Your "Big, Fat Cigar""

Review Notes: I enjoy a panatela or a lancero as a good change of pace from "big fat cigars". Not that there's anything wrong with "big fat cigars". This one was delicious in it's dark wrapper. It had a tangy taste to it through the better part of the cigar. Then, just over half way, when I was getting tired of the one-dimensional tang, it developed a more earthy and subtle flavor, woodsy with burnt marshmellow. The Lancero had the burn and draw of a champion. Overall, I liked the 1932 Churchill better, but to be fair, the Lancero was in the humidor for only a month. I'm looking forward to trying the rest of the line.

"Best Lancero"

Review Notes: I have smoked Lanceros since the 80's both CC and NC and this is currently my favorite. It is a strong full bodied cigar which is packed with full consistent flavor from the first light to the nub. They have a nice dark brown wrapper that is just a little ruff similar to a Cuban Cohiba. Construction is outstanding I have smoked over two boxes and every one has had a very good to perfect draw and not once have I encountered a plug or tunnel and in this size ring that is quite a feat. When I first encountered them they were $11 a stick but lately I have been able to get them at auction and on sale for around $7-9 a stick. If you like full flavored full bodied Lancero size cigars you should try this one its definitely a winner.

"As good as cuba"

Review Notes: The rare "as good as a fine Cuban" cigar. I love Pepin and his signature Black label is my favorite. i think its fair to slightly compare the two. One, this is more spiceful- tea like with vanilla cream-like sweetness. The Black label is sweeter with more a maple syrup like undertone. Either way this is one of the greatist puros, and cigars on the market and the Lancero size captivates you reminding you to savor every moment.

"Cuban-esque"

Review Notes: This cigar is similar to many Cubans in more than one way. The construction is superb, I'd match with R&J's and Partagas. Flavor is inconsistent though. I bought a box of 20, and about 5-8 were missing the flavor. I'd definitley reccomend this cigar as a full-body after dinner cigar.
