"Cubanesque"

Review Notes: This is the closest in flavor to a full bodied Cuban cigar that I have ever smoked. The appearance is flawless, with a smooth dark brown wrapper and solid construction. The cigar delivers abundant smoke and near flawless burn. Creamy leather and pepper finish are noted from the beginning. The cigar is strong, but never exhibits any harsh flavors. A blockbuster of a smoke and I can say it is one of the top ten cigars that I have ever smoked!

"Unquestionably a Cuban relative"

Review Notes: Someone should stick to zoology and rating multitudes of bundle cigars. While I freely admit that taste is largely subjective, this smoke has an unmistakable Cubanesque flavor to it. I smoked the last one in my humidor last night and it was strikingly similar to a medium-bodied Cuban, (Punch, Fonseca, Partagas). As J mentions, these do sometimes lighten up after the midway point, but they never get harsh or bitter. This cigar is among the best on the US market today.

"More typical Pepinm quality"

Review Notes: Anyone who knows Nicaraguan cigars knows Don Pepin's stuff, and this cigar is another masterpiece. Has that typical Pepin spicy taste to it, but this line is slightly milder and "dryer" than, say, his blue line or Cuban Classic line. Has a sort of nutty taste to it as well. A complex cigar to be sure. Holds its flavor longer than a typical cigar, but does lose quite a bit after about the 1/2 way point. Has a real nice wrapper that's not stingy but not bland either. Burn and construction are excellent. I won't say this is the best cigar ever made because it isn't, but it's easily a solid 9. If you like other Pepin's you owe it to yourself to put down the extra money and try one of these.

"Wonderful"

Review Notes: This has to rate as one of the best cigars around. At $ 7 on c-bid, it's an absolute steal for the quality.. I'd put this in the DC Maximus, Padron 1964 Anniversary class. Very complex flavors throughout - nutty and medium/full bodied. No harshness, and one that you smoke until the very nub. Only quibble was that the wrapper wasn't as tight as it could be, but that hasn't been the case in other Padillas I've had, so chalking it up to a one-time thing.
