Review Notes: I rate by flavor. Not sure why torpedo has lower rating that robusto, I like them equally. This is stronger than 1932, but similar, I find the 1932 rates a 9 for 1st 3rd flavor, and Miami rates an 8 so 1932 is a little better, but darn close. xlnt start, 2nd and last 3rd are great in flavor. Great is a 9+, to me means top 10% of 150 brands I've smoked. For the flavor, these are an excellent buy.

"Why the bad scores?"

Review Notes: It's weird reviewing a cigar that was changed not so long ago. In a perfect world there would be two separate entries, one for the DPG and one for the recent form. I'm reviewing the latter (I think) with about a month and a half in the humidor. The wrapper is nice looking, dark and slightly oily. A perfect draw with a woody pre-light flavor. Construction appears very good with a firm, uniform feel from head to foot. The initial flavors are sweet and spicy. Very nice, with lots of smoke and a medium body. Later the spice recedes some and I taste fruit, almost fig-like flavors with others I can't identify. The spice returns in the final third with a peppery finish on the tip of my tongue and lips. The finish is short and not overpowering at all. The robusto had more pepper than this; I think I like this shape better for that reason. The construction is excellent and continues that way all the way to the nub. This is a very nice cigar that I recommend. The value is based on a $4 auction price.

"Um..."

Review Notes: At the risk of sounding unpopular - I just don't like it. I paid a little more $$$ for these because of the hype, and the 94 rating by cigar aficionado. I was expecting a full flavored cigar, and instead I received a gorgeous looking cigar with little, if any, taste. I'm not sure if it was stale or what, but this was bland and boring. I thought the exact same thing of the 1932 (or is it 1938) when I picked it up about a year ago, so maybe I just don't care for this padilla line. Great hype, nice label, premium wrapper, but none of that matters if there is no taste. This one put me to sleep and for all that $$$ I spent, it should have knocked my socks off. For the money, get a padron.

"Enjoyable"

Review Notes: I can't understand why so many have had construction problems with this smoke. The construction was perfect on the ones i've smoked. I keep all my smokes at 65% and rarely have any burn problems. I also find the flavor to be very enjoyable with wood and spice. It's is a little one sided though, but I like anyway.

Review Notes: appearance--veiny ,lumpy looking wrapper.-construction-- the draw was good but the burn was very uneven most of the way through the cigar.-flavor--the flavor was good but not great considering the price.-value--not worth it maybe half the price.-overall--not impressed at all.would have done better with an edge which i was considering before i picked this one up.and a third of the price.
