Review Notes: This cigar was a huge dissapointment. The wrapper has a dye job that comes off on your lips and fingers, and the burn was horrible, it tunneled and ran up one side of the cigar. The taste was equally rotten, harsh and dry with a cardboard flavor. I got two of these in a sampler pack and I pitched the other one into the trash, something I've done before. Maybe the cigar company's through in some trash cigers for sampler packs.

Review Notes: When I lit this cigar my ife was with me and I exclaimed I LOVE this smoke the taste was wonderful! Within 1/4 of an inch it went out and from then on things went downhill. I'd relite and it would try to burn with a cone in the center, the outside would turn to charcoal and would not burn and would go out within 1 minute. Finally I cut off an inch and relit but no improvement. Like a fool I kept on till the very end because the smoke did have a good flavor. It never did properly lite.

Review Notes: The color was unnaturally purplish black. It dyed my fingers, making me think the wrapper may have been dyed or cooked. The burn was seriously bad--irregular and in the final half nearly impossible to keep lit (I had to repeatedly purge it between hits to keep it hot enough to generate smoke). Finally, the flavor was ok for the first quarter inch and part of the final third, but I'm not willing to work that hard to smoke a cigar with so little going for it. I have 4 more, so I'll age 'em.

Review Notes: Takes a little while to light, but once lit it stays lit without much trouble. Draw is medium-firm, and the burn is uneven. Full-bodied with strong coffee flavors and slight spiciness. There is also a definitive earthiness that permeates the thick smoke. Finish is smooth and chocolatey. Overall the smoke sits heavily in the mouth, but without any aspects being overpowering, it’s well-balanced and quite mellow. For $3.00 this is one heck of a smoke; there is a tremendous amount of flavor and complexity for a very low price. My only complaint is the construction was mediocre: toward the end of my time enjoying this cigar, the wrapper began to unravel, and as mentioned earlier the burn was rather uneven. But otherwise, BRAVO!

Review Notes: Even though I've been smoking cigars for awhile, I'm not an expert in distinguishing the subtle flavors. That is something I am still trying to improve. So I still have a ways to go before Cigar Afficionado signs me up. With that said, I will say that the flavor on this one is pretty darn good. And for $3 per stick at CI, the price/flavor ratio is a good buy. But I think people should be aware of one thing: This cigar will knock you on your butt. This thing is strong. I've read reviews on other web sites about this one and I thought that they were just wimps, but my dad and I both lit one up for the first time after a full meal (and my dad smokes every day), and this one had our head spinning. This is not a bad thing necessarily, but more of a buyer beware warning. But I will say, too strong for me. My only real complaint on this one is the burn. For a Padilla, it was an embarrassment. Both my cigar and my dad's had simply an awful burn and that sort of ruined the experience for me. I had to cut a significant portion of the cigar after lighting and change it from a Belicoso to a 3 inch quasi-Belicoso/Robusto. I willl not buy the bundle of 20 from CI for $59.99. I may buy a 5 or 10 pack for a cheap deal just to see if my cigar and my dad's burning problem was just a bad coincidence. But I now have my answer on the 20 pack.
