Review Notes:Wow, talk about bachi! (Bad karma) The day after my last review praising the construction quality of these cigars, I decided to smoke another Short.. And was hit with 3 in a row that were built wrong haha! The first 2 were too plugged for me to even try (I have them dry-boxing right now, but I don't think it's gonna help much) and the 3rd one canoed so badly I let it die after the 1st 2", cause it tasted horrible after the major corrections scorched the foot and some of what was left of the wrapper, plus it was burning hot enough to sting my lip on the side with the tunnel... I'll put it this way: Almost 1/2 the cigar was gone after only 10 mins of disappointment. I'll give it the same rating as my last review, I just thought it was a funny story and wanted to share. Hopefully that took care of all my bad luck for my next cab! ; )

Review Notes:Go-to cigar for when time is short (bad pun intended). They can be finished in about 20 mins, but I can stretch one to 45 if I puff slowly. Spicy, earthy, great Partagas tobacco flavor with a semi-sweet burnt cedar finish. Construction is consistent, they often burn a little crookedly, but plugged ones are few and far between. (I've only had a couple out of the 3 cabs I've enjoyed so far, working on the last 12 of an '07 right now.) When I'm craving big stick flavor and strength, but have little time, these are top dog IMO. I find them a little harsh when young, but they seem to smooth out quickly within a year or so. I would love to see what age would do to them, but I never seem to have the patience to make any last long enough to tame their considerable strength lol. These are in constant rotation in my humis, highly recommended.

Review Notes:Just a follow-up review of the box I bought a few years ago (dated 2005). This smoke has mellowed out some, but has retained a lot of its characteristic salted peanut flavor - just more refined. It's smooth and rich; I'm very glad I bought the box - I should have bought a cab!
