Review Notes: If you can find these in a sampler, get them. This smoke, despite a tear in the wrapper, was a wonderful experience. The tear corrected itself without any relighting, and the flavor was smooth and spicy. Very prominent on the front of the tongue with a delicious aroma.

Review Notes: I have a few friends that attest to smoke only cubans and on more than one occasion I would catch them puffing on these pitas. I thought i would give them a try, and I agree that these are about as good as a lot of cubans today. The wrapper is smooth fine and flawless. at light up you get a nice nutty creamy flavor with a nice smoke aroma. the ash is white and very sharp it held on for about 1/3 of the way. the flavor picked up some spice and a woody earthy hint to the nut flavor. After smoking about ten of these, this cigar really never disappoints and I can see why these are a great alternative to a cuban.

"Often overlooked but one of the best..."

Review Notes: This cigar is one of the best for consistency, construction, a razor-sharp burn and, at less than $3 a smoke, perhaps the best value in cigardom. It produces volumes of smoke, decent flavor and a strong finish during the hour-long smoke. The wrapper is nearly flawless, with an oily, silky patina that only improves with age. I'm half way through my second box and waited until now to rate it. Every smoke had the consistency of a top cigar without a flaw in the group. I have a weakness for Fuente Don Carlos but not the wallet to afford them on an every-day basis. The Pita is more than an adequate stand-in for my daily smoke, saving the Don Carlos' for the weekend. The Pita is wholefully under-rated and under-appreciated, IMO.

"Sometimes it just comes back to basics..."

Review Notes: I remember one of the first premium cigars I began to enjoy was Punch. Mainly because they were so accessible and priced decently for the "newbie". With the vast amount of cigars to experience I sort of forgot how much I enjoyed these. I picked up a 10 pack on auction and have really come to enjoy these. I went to a hot rod/antique car show this past weekend at the beach and smoked these while walking around and it made my weekend! Very consistant, smooth draw, even burn, and all around enjoyable. No suprises, but totally satisfying. It is amazing how a $4 or $5 cigar can make an enjoyable afternoon and many $10 and $20 cigars can be depressingly not enjoyable, especially for the price paid.

"An Old Standby"

Review Notes: I used to enjoy Punch cigars many years ago. That was when there were not too many brands out there and certainly before all of the boutique type cigars. Over the years I got away from Punch and now enjoy RPs, some Gurkhas, Garmirians, etc. After reading these reviews I got a handful of these cigars and am happy I did. Solid medium body with a little bit of bite (which I like). Straightforward tobacco flavors. Slightly (very little) sweet. Excellent burn and construction. I think this is a bit like a nice old-fashioned ice cream cone - nothing fancy but still delicious and worth the time. Thanks to the other reviewers for inspiring me to try this old stand-by again.
