"Good but Overpriced"

Review Notes: This is a handsome cigar that was good in all aspects, but the toro of this line is much better. The torpedo (which I believe is 5 inches), was a little harsh at the beginning, but due to the hints of caramel and molasses , I ended up nubbing it. She's a beauty with a draw that's a little on the loose side and a burn that was above average. If you can find them at a reasonable price, you can't go wrong.

Review Notes: My 2 favorite non-Cuban cigars are DPG Cuban Classic and the RP Olde World Reserve Corojo. This stick has been in my humidor for about 8 months. A beautiful oily wrapper that was almost vein free had me salivating. The construction appeared to be exceptional, but it did require one pretty major correction after about the 1/3 mark. The draw was very good. The flavors were buttery, almost creamy early on. Midway, a mild black pepper appeared, but faded quickly. I would still describe the flavor as spicy on the tip of my tongue, and an excellent tobacco taste throughout. It's clear this cigar is still young, but surprisingly good anyway. While medium to full, it's substantial and very well balanced. There's no burn on the back of my throat and no bitterness whatsoever. This cigar is a real treasure. I nubbed it.

"Meh"

Review Notes: Not even one of Rocky's better cigars. The IT Super Fuerte is a better smoke at a much better price. One-dimensional flavor and no finish until the last 1/3 and then finally there is an aftertaste--bitterness. What a letdown.

"May have caught a bad stick"

Review Notes: From the moment I took a cold taste after cutting, I knew something was up. The draw was looser than sucking air through a short drinking straw. Being very careful not to over heat the cigar, the flavor was very impressive, yet more mild then I was expecting from a corojo. Sure enough, the cigar began to tunnel very quickly. To sum it up, I battled the cigar all the way to the last quarter. Apparently it was rolled horribly and no matter what i did and how many times I tried to correct the burn, the cigar tunneled in the exact same spot in the filler. I'm glad I only paid 2.50 for this cigar (in a large sampler) and that I have the same cigar in its robusto size. I must end in saying, however, that the flavor was the only reason I remained patient enough to endure the constant correction of the burn. The tunneling even helped me appreciate the great balance the filler has when the binder and wrapper smoke comes into play. In the few moments the cigar burned correctly, I got the taste of a peanut shell. Close to nutty but more sharp and salty than sweet nutty, if that makes sense at all. I hope the robusto doesnt have the same construction problem. My rating numbers are reflective of the overall affect the tunneling had on my smoking experience.

Review Notes: Wow I love the Corojo over the Mad to my own surprise. The flavor just hit the spot and while no shift throughout, I loved it to the nub. At this price it is no every day stick on my budget. Come on Rock, through a dog a bone. It needed more time in my humi but I am weak.
