Review Notes: Good looking stick. Dark brown reddish wrapper. Cuts and lights beautifully. Nice easy draw. This thing really put out the smoke! It was filling up my entire garage with smoke. First 1/3 was a bit boring, simple tobacco flavor with an earthy tone. After that the rest of the cigar got much tastier. Nice roasted nutty flavor. A hit of spice that was short lived. But the nutty roasted flavor was great right up to the nub. Burn was razor sharp first 1/3 than had issues that required a touchup now and again for the rest. The wrapper split just behind the burn one time also. If I could take the flavor of the second half combined with the burn of the first half, this would have been a great smoke. I won't mind having some more of these in the humidor.

Review Notes: I bought a 10 pack of seconds about 2 years ago and at the time it was my first mêlée into the world of Rocky Patel. I smoked about 6 of them and for the price, they were a great deal. If I had to rate the cigar back then, I would have gave it about 87 points. There were still a few rough edges that needed to be smoothed out. The heavy tangy aftertaste (although I liked it) was a little to heavy at times. I put the other 4 away in my humidor to see what a little age might do for them. Last night, I brought a couple over for a dinner at my Father in laws place for an after dinner smoke. The meal he prepared was fantastic. We started with an Avocado salad with raspberry vinaigrette, for the main course a baked garlic butter and Herb chicken with slow roasted potatoes accompanied by Copala Rosso wine, and for dessert a chocolate gnash cake with another bottle of Innocent Bystander Pinot Noir. Following the meal my father in law lit up one of the Nub Cameroons that I brought him, while I sparked the Vintage Torpedo. Upon prelight, the wrapper looked great. The age had let the oils seep and dry out a bit. A couple of years ago the wrapper looked more like a Rocky Patel Decade, today, it looked like a Pardon Anniversary. For some reason, I tend to associate the RP vintage lines with the 1964 Padron Annies because of their similar taste profiles. Upon sparking this stick, my assumptions were correct. The overpowering tang had dissipated, and flavors like tea, and dried flowers were at the forefront combined with a hint of leather in the back ground. The burn was razor sharp, and the ash was tight and it paired perfectly with a glass of Gentlemen’s Jack. The cigar itself was to long for me to finish because the fiancé and I needed to get home so I ditched it at about the 30 minute mark. I wish I could have smoked it down to the nub. What a great night of good home cooking, family, and this fine cigar. I think I’ll buy another 10 and age them for another couple of years. After the age, I give it a strong 91 points.

Review Notes: I always come back to this cigar after having "big ticket" cigars. For the price they still rank among my favorite. There is a thick, toasty, nutty flavor that always creeps through, however, the aroma is best when you pull ever so slightly on the cigar and lick your chops while breathing (I think this is called a retrohale?) Despite all that, it is second only to the Padron 64 Anniv. If you like the edge corojo, this is a must try! let them mellow for 2 months before even touching them and any trace of unpleasant "live flavor" should be indistinguishable. I buy these from CI as seconds and personally feel that for the money it is by far the best smoke out there. Again, only bested by Padron 64 anniv if you like a "nutty / creamy" aroma and full bouquet. Not as strong (nicotine wise) as others, but very very amazing taste! Medium body with a toasty mellow. Not too peppery.

Review Notes: Looks great. Very creamy and smooth and perfect draw. Sweet cedar and some sweet earthy notes. Rich but medium bodied smoke. My only real gripe is a little bit of a crooked burn. Recommended! I believe that this one has a 10 year old wrapper. The well balanced smooth smoke made the wait well worth it!
