Review Notes: The R&J Bully is a cigar that requires a good deal of aging. I bought a fiver a year ago and have been smoking one every couple of months. For the first 6 months or so they tasted green and very heavy on the cedar almost like they were full of sap. The two I smoked in the last four months have been considerably better, not great but better. The Bully also has a tendancy to tunnel and go out, requiring a lot of touch-ups. This cigar has been around for a while as you can tell by the number of reviews and I've always heard good things about the Bully. However, I have to admit, while a respectable cigar, I could have done much better for the money.

Review Notes: I had one in my humidor from a sampler that had been aging for just over 6 months, decided to give it a try. Appearance was very nice, well constructed with sweet earthy aromas. Lit up easy and burned well throughout; very nice draw and plenty of dense smoke. Thats where the positives end. First third was a bit harsh and had very little flavor. Second third was better, medium but not much flavor. Last third was a bit more flavorful still, but flavor was still to be desired. Provides a very one dimensional tobacco flavor, not much else going on that I could pick up. Overall an average cigar for an above average msrp.

Review Notes: Very well constructed, nice draw, volumes of smoke and even burn. Flavor at start leaves a bit to be desired, but develops nicely.

Review Notes: Slow start with a bit of an uneven burn, great middle, mellow and mild. Slight bitter toward the end, but maybe it was my eagerness to repeat the middle performance and I let it get hot. Price point a little high for me, but great weekend smoke.

Review Notes: I paid a visit to my local tobacconist approximately five weeks ago and picked one of these out (amongst a few other cigars in the $5 to $7 range) because a dear friend had highly recommended them. Stashed away in one of my humidors, I decided that tonight would be the night to experience something new. I must say that I was a bit disappointed this evening as I puffed away for an hour desperately trying to figure out why the recommendation was made. The construction of the cigar was good, stayed evenly lit throughout, and produced an ash that held up to three inches. However, I puffed away in great disappointment until the cigar was too hot to smoke and the hope of discovering any flavor had vanished with the clouds of smoke. My saving grace for the evening was the company of a 3-ounce splash of Remy Martin and the outlook (an hour's worth) of smoking something a little bit more worthwhile before the new work week begins. I'm always willing to accommodate a lackluster experience with the opportunity for redemption, but that experience is going to have to take a backseat for a very long time. Life is too short to spare a moment for dissatisfaction.
