Review Notes: Here's a great cigar that is mild yet extremely flavorable at the same time, delivering a mocha coffee like experience with a long finish. Got 'em on sale at 25% off, so I did not pay an arm and leg for this LE. A perfect choice when you want a sure thing that won't overpower your pallet

"Nice smoke."

Review Notes: A very pleasant experience! This EL box code FDO 11/04 sported a tremendously toothy thick dark chocolate wrapper with minimal veins. Excellent prelight aroma. Solid construction without soft spots. Easy light. Smooth draw. Even burn without the need for relights or corrections. Gray ash. Tons of white smoke. This stick started immediately with spice, floral notes, and a hint of white pepper. This transitioned in the first third to a melange of wood, flora, berries, warm leather, and a hint of orange peel. The middle third brought mild cocoa, citrus, and more floral and spice notes that characterize a classic RyJ flavor profile. A toasted tobacco taste mixed with mild menthol and a tanginess was found in the last third. All in all, this full bodied 1 hour 40 minute smoke was most enjoyable and contained the classic RyJ flavors that I love, with a few added complex notes. Although young, it will surely mature into an EL that is worthy of the moniker, in my opinion. Paired well with HC7 rum. Bought a box.

"A very non-EL EL"

Review Notes: Most of the Edicion "Unlimitadas" leave me, well, Un-Excited. But I am really fond of this one, which incorporates some of the traditional Romeo fruitiness along with moderate tannins and well-fermented tobacco flavors. This is not a strong, spicy, or peppery smoke, but a medium bodied cigar with savory, complex flavors that I expect will ripen nicely with time. I recently bought a second box just to age, because the first isn't going to survive 2006!

"Waiting to be great"

Review Notes: I just purchased 2 boxes of these and they look great. Box code JNL Nov 04. Pre lit aroma is fantastic. Slightly boxed press in presentation, little rough on the cap. Started off typical of a cuban, with a great taste and light spice of a typical Romeo Cuban. In the middle of the cigar it just opened up, got intense and realeased a bunch of earthy cuban dirt flavor, fantastic. The finish is expresso with a hint of spice. I predict these to mellow out and become superb with age, can't wait.

"Sideways...the Italian way"

Review Notes: Those Americans that believe that Wineland is somewhere north of Frisco, they should come to the land of Barolo, Piedmont, Italy. This is the homeland of the king of Italian wines, the Barolo, and f... all those cabernet sauvignon of Tuscany (or California, or Bordeaux, or wherever else, they all taste the same...) so much liked by the Wine Spectator. In a true wineland, after a very good dinner with a very good Barbera by Aldo Conterno I have smoked the R & J here. Very good indeed, if a little too smooth in flavours. Nice burn, good construction. All in all, a very nice smoke, with the added bonus of a second life the day after (I had not finished it the night before, the thing is biggish), still very smooth and smokable.
