Review Notes: 2 year old box. Aestetically perfect, wonderful draw, great solid dark ash, somewhat youngish flavor without complexity. Will try again in a few weeks.

Review Notes: This corona bore a honey colored wrapper with some small water spots which was applied like shrink wrap to the perfectly parallel sides of a classic parejo. The artfully applied triple cap was square and flat. The cigar had a slight box press on two sides and a great springy feel. Perfect density allowed a nice draw, and a subtle pre light tease of spice hinted at the flavor to come. The cigar burst to life with an abundance of opulent smoke, rich with the taste of wet leather and flint tangled up in a core of spice. A thick dark ring marched in an orderly fashion up the cigar as it burned, leaving a medium gray ash bearing the telltale whorls of an artfully hand bunched filler. The cigar burned quickly, releasing the wide spectrum of flavors in a timed and regular progression. From leather to fresh wheat and earth to dark roasted hops, and still the solid ash stood firm like a marble monument. Throughout the burn the finish stayed crisp and peppery with a nice lingering lushness that called anxiously for the next puff. The aroma was nice and light and had a fruity quality reminiscent of the sherry casking used on some fine Scotch whiskys, making the whirling smoke a fine companion to the experience. At about the halfway mark the wrapper experienced a small amount of cracking and splitting, probably due to the humid night air. While no powerhouse, this cigar was no slouch either, getting in some body shots as it went and creating a cumulative effect of strength. The mournful honks of a goose disturbed from its roost echoed through the valley as it flew overhead added to the experience. The second half of the cigar was sublime as it layered more lush flavors on top of the solid core of spice and nuttiness. This was a Swiss watch of a cigar; impeccably crafted from fine components and ticking precisely through a well orchestrated chronology of delightful and well mannered flavors. Hiighly recommended.
