"Decent but underwhelming"

Review Notes: A dark oscuro cigar with a slight box press flattening the sides, this stick had a beautiful black and silver band with nicely detailed embossing. The skin was tough and leathery with veins and a few lumps, and there were two tiny round holes in just the wrapper about halfway down. Also, there were a few little wrinkles in the cap. It did have a nice springy roll, however, and when clipped deep it allowed a medium firm draw. There was a good earthy pre-light aroma, and the pre-light draw was loamy. Upon lighting there was a burst of flinty flavor, and then a full, medium bodied taste emerged. A decent grey ash held on well and tapped cleanly, even though there was a slightly uneven burn at times. It produced lots of chewy smoke. A black and tan prepared in the traditional manner proved a good companion to the cigar as it continued to push out decent mid-range flavor. Smoked to the band, the cigar became stronger as it went, eventually giving me a slight nicotine buzz towards the end. Throughout, the aroma was rich and tempting. Overall a good, generally well constructed cigar. Although satisfying, Iíve come to expect more from Romeo y Julieta products. This cigar could easily have been more complex and it was rougher than the usual Romeo y Julieta in construction and appearance; however, it was a nice change of pace. Recommended.

Review Notes: The flavor of this cigar was very inconsistant, it never was a bad flavor but usually when I am ejoying a nice smoke I prefer it to be the same taste. I wouldn't buy another one but wouldn't turn one down if offered

"Great smoke for a good price"

Review Notes: You have to love the Raiders colored band on this cigar - nice looking maduro - dark even color. Unlike the other two reviewers to date, none of the nearly 17 RyJ Reserve Maduro Belicosos suffered from construction problems - the draw was always fine? The ash and even burn on these cigar is remarkable. The flavor is nice - it is so close to the RyJ Reserve Natural, but both are nice - there is a bit of a sweet flavor that tickles your tongue at the end of each draw - almost like the difference between Bud Light and Miller Lite - Bud just has a slight sweet tinge to it? Nevertheless, the flavor was nice - a bit on the mild side, soft sweet aroma and hints of toast - for $7, this cigar is not bad - unlike the Onyx Maduro, this cigar seems to contain a bit more character in its flavor.

"Destined to be a classic!"

Review Notes: Can't get enough of these Reserve Maduros. Don't usually care for torpedos, but the flavor and aroma of this compensated for the poor draw. Wrapped a bit tight, but impeccable quality in the blend. Dark chocolate with a hint of citrus, cedar. A fine "merlot" of a cigar. Will have to try a No. 4. (Usually prefer that shape).
