Review Notes: What a shame. This is, hands down, my favorite smoke thus far in my journey into the Brotherhood of the Leaf. The beautiful San Andres Morron wrapper was oily and dark with little veining noted. Pre-light aroma was woodsy with a bit of spice and got me immediately excited about what was to come. Toasting the foot proved easy, and the first draw was smooth as silk, with the same spicy-woodsiness I expected. Like all Saint Luis Reys it held the ash and did not want to let go. Unfortunately, about halfway through the draw became so unbelievably tight that it became impossible to smoke. Amazing first half, however. I'll definitely try another and hope the best.

"Dead-on Value"

Review Notes: NO, this is not going to satisfy the high dollar smoker for the simple reason that it is a budget smoke. Roll your eyes if you may, but the St L Rey Toro Maduro is the best 3.00 smoke available. I've tried near a 100 2-4 dollar cigars. After 2-3 years of experimenting, I'm convinced no cigar is a better smoke for the buck. I ran out in Vegas about a year ago. It was my first vacation in 5 years. I took 5 for 2 nights, but ran out. The lobby of the Venitian had a cigar stand selling Fino Davidoffs. I had smoked a couple 15 years back, but had no idea what I was smoking. So, I dished out 14.00 for a Fino and dove in to what I thought was going to be cigar heaven. I missed my SLR immediately. Nuff said, the SLR Toro Maduro is the finest smoke for the buck hands down. It's as good or better than most smokes at any price. Other SLR smokes were just pretty good to me, FYI.

"Decent smoke, good price"

Review Notes: This maduro really stands out because of its extremely pressed shape. The draw is slightly firm but it burns consistently. It's medium-bodied with coffee and nutty flavors; it tastes a bit rough, but it's more than smokable. Reasonably priced so will probably get more.

"One of my favorites"

Review Notes: Smooth, chocolate and coffee flavor. Burned perfectly. The draw was a little firm. That's my only complaint. Great price, too.
