Review Notes: A smooth full bodied cigar. Good draw, great construction, but awful ash and burn.

Review Notes: I let this set for a little over a year and, by the remarks made in some other reviews, I'm glad I did. This is a decent looking, box pressed cigar. The flavor started chocolate.spice.earth and picked up a sweet tone an inch or so in. The power stepped up a little past the halfway point, but I would never call it full-bodied. Also about the halfway point, a more pronounced tobacco flavor started taking over. Burn and draw were great. For the price, this is a good smoke.

Review Notes: Well constructed stick with a nice, tight ash. Slightly strong smoke aroma and a straight-forward tobacco taste. These are obviously not made for their depth of flavor, which was a turn-off for me. It usually takes a 6"+ stick to get a buzz going, but this one came in under that. Complexity of flavor is definately substituted for strength in this one. If you like a unmodified, unblended tobacco taste, this is the stick for you. Nice looking wrapper, by the way.

Review Notes: I tried the SP Maduro before, and didn't like it. Very bland. This one is somewhat better...a bit stronger, more peppery taste, but still, this is sub-par cigar. Very one-dimensional, nothing really stand out other than the peppery taste, and it starts getting bitter 1/2 way down. Wrapper is a little stingy if you like that. Burn and draw are excellent however. I'm just not generally a big fan of Honduran smokes...there's just something about them I don't like, and this is about as Honduran as it gets. Not the worst I've ever had by far, but there's better out there even at this low price. If you like stronger smokes and try aging this one, you might like it. This one definitely would improve with age I would suspect.

Review Notes: They weren't kidding when they named this sucker were they. I'm a big fan of SPs but this was my first Xtra Fuerte. It was a very attractive and well constructed, firm and dense. I smoked the whole thing primarily becuase it was suchh a satisfying technical experience, and I appreciate a well put together stick at least as much as I appreciate one with great flavor. Still, it was a real bull in a china shop, big imposing uber tobacco flavor with little that I could detect in the way of other notes. I'm going to age a couple of these for a while and see how I feel after that.
