"Different tatuaje"

Review Notes: a unique tasting tatuaje. the reserva is not quite as strong as the regular label, but still full bodied. Improves drastically after the first inch or so. Warms up pretty good. Lots of leather with undertones of earthy tobacco flavors. Second third brought a lot of power to the table. Toasty wood and a nose tingling spice. A slightly dry finish, however a pleasant one though. A very complex smoke. Pricey and hard to come by, but worth the hunt.

"Damn good!"

Review Notes: A very flavorful cigar! The churchill-sized stick is draped in a rich dark brown wrapper with minimal veins and mild toothing. Construction was a bit off, with soft spots both at the foot and near the head. Easy light. Smooth draw. Hot burn in the first third and towards the end, likely from the loose construction. Tons of creamy white smoke. Black-gray ash (almost jet black in the areas of hot burn, as above). Started with pepper, wood, and earth. The first third brought flavors of earth, char, and mild black pepper. However, once the hot burn/loose roll areas were passed, the flavor profile changed and brought a slightly floral taste with toasted tobacco and cedar. The middle third had fleeting nuances of barnyard hay and menthol on a backdrop of earth, charred wood, and flora. The last third saw an intensification of the earth, menthol, and herbal flavors. All in all, this one hour 30 minute smoke was complex, full-bodied, and surprisingly good - that is, when it was not overburning. Its flavors were definitely affected by the construction issues I had in this particular stick. Additional sampling will be required. ;)

"Cuban in disguise"

Review Notes: The cigar starts out spicey with cocoabean in between. Flavorful and strong but balanced. Very relaxing. If you took the bands off you would think it was a cuban. But much more affordable. Great draw and construction.
