Review Notes: I smoked one last night first from a box of five. My impression is that this cigar was fresh. Ok the draw was good, burning a bit uneven but not much anyway, the flavours were grassy with mushrooms and...flat. Towards the end things got better with some leathery notes but the feeling of young tobacco never stopped. I hope that i am right on this, i will return next year to comment again.

Review Notes: Revisited this cigar for the first time in 2 years....what a difference two years makes. The first one I smoked in summer '05 was grassy, and had that fresh (not pleasant in that case) flavor...one dimensional, less than average cigar. Tonight I pulled another from my original fiver out after a steak dinner and put the torch to it. A beautiful corona gorda sized cigar, with a looser draw than average on the pre-light draw. The first third was different from most cigars I have smoked. Strength without a hint of spice. Charred wood with a honey flavor underlying it. The draw produced huge volumes of smoke, let wasn't so loose as to negatively affect either the burn nor the flavor. Held well over 2 inches of ash before finally losing it after the first third. The second third was sweeter, with the honey flavor putting the woody flavor in the backseat. The strength was still present, now with a hint of spice, but not the peppery type spice I am most familiar with. Again it held the ash until I was 2/3rd the way through the cigar. The last third started out more mild than the first parts. The flavors were a bit more subdued, the sweetness again becoming less pronounced, and more of a quality tobacco flavor coming through. The last inch was the kicker...spice picked up fast, but again not a peppery version of spice. The closest thing I can compare it to was ginger, a ginger flavor so pronounced that it made my nose tingle...on a couple of draws, it tingled so much I had the feeling of needing to sneeze. Never lost the ash on the last third before the burning in my fingertips forced me to let it die. he finish was long, the ginger, honey and wood still lingers on my palate. All in all, a wonderful cigar. Not a truly comlpex cigar though the last inch truly held a multitude of flavors. Such a difference after 2 years, I will try to wait another two years before I revisit it again, and see what changes that brings...but it will be hard.

Review Notes: This is one incredible stick! A gift from a buddy, this '04 farm-rolled VR sported a rich, chocolately wrapper with minimal veins. Solid construction with a closed (wrapped) foot and no soft spots. Easy light. Smooth draw. Even burn without the need for relights or corrections. Gray ash. Started with a tannic, spicy flavor with notes of pepper. The first third brought a medley of leather, espresso, and white pepper. This eased into a rich earthiness in the middle third with hints of green apple and molasses. The last third added a fleeting note of brown sugar to the mix. All in all, this one hour full-bodied complex smoke was very enjoyable. Everyone around me commented favorably on the aroma. Definitely get your hands on these if you can. They are worth it!
