Review Notes: I had a bad experience with sumatra wrapped cigars a few years ago and am still leary of them because of it. I could live without the sweet tip but very much like this cigar. First off it's a bargain (usually under $2) on Bealzabob's website so you gotta get a fiver, right? As with most cigars it starts off spicy and burns the sinus a little. I like that. Then she settles down and though the spice stays in the sinus the flavor picks up and becomes smoother and more prominent as you reach halfway. Not as smooth as the Connecticut, but maintains a sweet, creamy smoke with an edge to it. Being my first smoke of the day on an empty stomach this seems to be a very solid medium bodied smoke capable of standing up to most beverages. The wrapper is rough and dry with some plume and no oils. The burn was right on until I let it sit while typing this and it needed a touch. Some sweet herbal notes are detected from time to time adding to the enjoyment. Old Sol has not disappointed me yet.
