Review Notes: Now it appears that I am the only one to smoke this cigar in a year. My guess is the size, is not all that popular. As always, the packaging is terrific, the construction was tight but quite veiny. When I took the cedar wrap off it had left a couple of lighter colored spots on the tobacco. My first thought was mold but that wasn’t the case. I think they were caused by the cedar wrap. The spots only marginally marred the appearance and did nothing to the taste. These are a blend of five different tobaccos emphasizing Corojo. In fact I’m not to sure the term Corojo is being used correctly when applied to these sticks. In the VS cigar the Corojo is at best an additive. Still this wasn’t too bad. I have a hard time defining this as a full bodied cigar though. To me it was quite mild. Possibly the potency of the cigar was masked by how smooth it was. I smoked this thing for what seemed like an eternity, eventually throwing out the last three inches or so because it took too much attention. My limited experience with Victor Sinclair product has shown, at least with this batching, the need to keep the flame close. Although you would have had to beat the ash off the cigar, it was the ugliest composite of grays, whites and blacks imaginable. The taste was smooth with some nice spice and did not get hot, probably because I couldn’t keep it lit. I’ve heard others describe a wine flavor and have to agree…not a very good wine though. One point worth mentioning is that as many times as the cigar required relighting, when it was re-lit the cigar continued to be very smooth. The first three inches were enjoyable…the rest of the cigar forgettable. Right now my suggestion would be to spend your money on the Camacho Corojo. These had a pretty good rest before smoking but will continue the aging process and see what changes occur later this year.
