Review Notes: R&J has beeen producing quality cigars since 1875. And although they are credited with creating the Churchill format (known as "Julieta 2" in the factory), the Belicoso is the jewel of the R&J line. It has remained consistent in construction and taste for the 11 years that I have enjoyed them. I cannot say the same for other Cuban brands, especially during the early 90's. The Belicoso size burns slow and cool, allowing for great volumes of creamy smoke. For some reason, I always taste notes of orange peel in the Belicosos that is either faint or absent in other R&J sizes. A very enjoyable cigar that represents the consistency that Cuba is capable of.
