Review Notes:
This cigar presented with a medium-brown, (somewhat) toothy wrapper. For the first inch or so, I found it to be very acidic and nasty, But, it soon settled down. It began to have heavy leather and cedar notes, with a little bite to it. But, I agree with reviews that suggest that it was one dimensional. It remained leathery for the duration. At times, it did have a heavy, rich, smokey flavor, but those nuances were shortlived, and not consistent; as I got infrequent glimpses of those flavors. It never really mellowed, and it never got any richer; just sort of blah. The draw was good, and the construction was good. I was interested to smoke this the day after I smoked a Red-Dot, to make the comparison. I think this one was stronger, heartier, and richer, but was not as smooth and refined as the Red-Dot. I know that its hard to compare the two, but the bitterness of this smoke is what turned me off. I feel the Red-Dot had more balance(regardless of heavy vs. mild comparison). This was an o.k smoke. But, if you like the heavy taste, and the nice buzz, I feel as if there are better options.
