Review Notes: I have tried these periodically over the years with similar results. I bought the DeGaulle "Barn" at a screaming good deal and went through all 40 sticks in 6-7 months. This is truly a "you get what you pay for" smoke. First of all I LOVE the flavor of these. Very consistent from box-to-box and year-to-year. A great sweet wood core with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and anise. I HATE the inconsistent burn. Out the most recent 40 I smoked "maybe" 10 of them burned well. So what does that mean? If you're a bargain seeker you cannot beat the tremendous taste if you don't mind continual torch maintenance as you smoke. On so many of them the roll seems good and almost all the wrappers look great - nice dark caramel color and good oils; just the damn burn. If they tasted the exact same but burned well I'd gladly pay twice the price (yep, the whole three dollars).
