Review Notes: I don't get the Opus mystique. I haven't had one for a good 3-4 years and was hoping my past experiences would be laid to rest. Unfortunately this is not the case. As those I have had in the past these two samples were deja vu. Great looking, beautiful wrapper, tremendous potential for flavor but horrible burn. When I think Opus I think torch maintenance. As usual there was a lot of great flavor that was hindered by continually having to set the thing ablaze in effort to get it burning 360 degrees. Even the ones I have seen other smoke had an off kilter burn. Too many awesome cigars out there to plunk down this kinda dough to be frustrated with it. I'll stick with the Hemingway's and Don Carlos in the Fuente arsenal and go with Cubans, La Flor, and Padron when I want a stellar full bodied smoke.
