Review Notes: This is my first Hmmm moment with an Excalibur, definitely my favorite line out there. I generally stock II's and V's, and Merilins, so I also tried one of JR's 5-packs to check out the III. The first stick in the pack was less beautiful than I've come to expect from the line, sporting a couple big veins and a wavy rippled cap. Initially, the draw was too fast, it very acrid and the less than perfect construction felt odd in my mouth. Then about 1" into the smoke the draw seemed to moderate and the flavor opened up into the beautiful round, rich flavor I've come to expect from the Excaliburs. By the end I loved this about as much as any of the Excs ever had and was upset when it ended. I'm hoping this one was an aberration and the other 4 will be all around better smokes.
