Review Notes: I previously smoked the torpedo of this line and I rated it a 91. This double-corona was the same flavor, and one I have never experienced except with the Oliva "O". This cigar was a little intimidating to look at, with its large girth and length and almost black, dark maduro wrapper. I expected it to be over-powering and maybe bitter. It was a little rustic looking. However, this cigar was truly a pleasure from beginning to end. Burn was perfectly even, draw was fine via bulls-eye punch hole. The pre-light aroma was magnificent. This was one of the most satisfying smokes I have come across. Flavor was chock full of sweet spices, with a long, impressive finish of smoky wood. It was also very peppary, and I can't quite place my finger on what all those sweet spices were. Even with all the spicy-sweetness, this cigar retained balance throughout. The smoky-woodsy flavor kind of neutralized the sweet, spiciness for a full-bodied, smooth smoke with plenty of kick to it. Into the 2/3 point, some creamy overtones developed, making it even more palatable. There were also some citrus notes and sharp pine. This is definitely one of the finest Nicaraguan Puros I have smoked. I was hoping this Oliva would be as good as the one I had a couple months ago while in San Fran. It was even better, because it was longer lasting and had a better draw than the torpedo. The ashes were greyish and perfectly layered, hanging on for well over 1". I nubbed this thing to the very end and it lasted for about 1 hour, 15 min. I was lovin every minute of it, and licked my fingers when I was done. If you are looking for FLAVOR, and one that you will not find in any other cigar that I know of, try one of these babies. Just the thought of this cigar makes me start to drool!
