Review Notes: A very dark but mottled looking wrapper felt dry to the touch and was circled by the nice yellow-orange band. The cuadrado press was pronounced and sharp, and the band slid right off over the rectangular head, easily clearing the well applied cap. The cigar felt light for its size, but the sides were firm and solid to the touch. It also had a nice pre light tingle and a taste of earth and apples. The smoke flowed easily from the crisp cut, delivering a medium light bodied experience that tasted of evergreen woodiness. Very pleasant flavor and a nice mix of spices filled out the taste. The medium gray ash was slightly flakey but did not drop until asked, leaving a crisp well formed cone every inch or so. The finish was meaty and left a smoky reminder with lovely velvety overtones. The cigar burned evenly and slowly, retaining its square shape and firm feel. I enjoyed this cigar on the front porch with the light casting a globe of luminescence which showcased the huge snowflakes that signaled the end of the storm that had lashed us for the past two days. The cigar was a warm counterpoint to the chill of the 34 degree air, and the flavor and aroma was that of a nice wood fire in the old kitchen stove. A hot cup of decaf was the perfect companion, especially with the generous shot of Irish whiskey that somehow found its way into the cup. Overall this was a good solid cigar with warm, inviting flavors and a nice blend of woody well aged tobacco. It was a welcome companion on a cold winter night, and the overall impression was very positive and comforting. Recommended.
