Review Notes: Phikkar Chhaina! It is clear from the start that it is well crafted. The wrapper is firm and dark with a spongy filler. The flavor is medium-to-full with an initial spice that increases as the cigar decreases. The smoke is full, dark, and rich in flavor, but the burn can be delicate at times. I did notice that at the 3/4 mark, the flavor made some substantial changes, with mixed results. The Brits admired the Gurkhas even though they were trying to kill each other back in 1814, and eventually even recruited them to their outfit. My humidor is slowly accumulating its own Brigade of Gurkhas, which are well worth the price. I bought them up like I was headed to Bhurtpore, and I will enjoy them for quite some time. I think that the company was actually giving away Kukris (!?!) with the purchase of a bundle of the cigars at one point, for the clear purpose of accidentally cutting of fingers of the wielder or standers-by. I recommend this cigar and knife-safety.
