Review Notes: A wink and a nod from my tobacconist said it all. This was to be a special smoke. I was a loyal Padron smoker. I prefered the Anniversary series. I have to tell you...I found my new fave. This is a beautiful, spicy, rich, deep smoke. It's like when you bite into some really good Thai food and through all the spicy heat you can still taste the fresh cilantro. The Maximus is like that. It's spicy and deep. It keeps going all the way to the end. I've been searching the net and I have only been able to find singles. I can see why. Opus smokers, you need to try this. It's another Fuente production, but I think they may have outdone themselves. Padron smokers...You no longer have to suffer through another box pressed cigar to get great flavor at a "sub-Opus" price. Even the ring is fabulous to look at. By the way, it's not a maduro, even though the wrapper is chocolate brown. It's a beautiful sun grown wrapper.
