Review Notes: I hate giving a negative review of a cigar. I had a Robusto a month or so ago and really enjoyed it so I thought this torpedo would be an excellent smoke... In fretrospect I think the robusto was a maduro. But we are talking about this cigar. Prelight it was very attractive with a soft leather and chocolate aroma. When I cut it tere was a nice hard stem right right in the way. On light up I was blasted with acrid harshness that went straight to the back of my tounge and throat. It mellowed quickly(geez do I say that every time???) Unfortunately it mellowed so much that there was an airyness to it. I do not recall previously experiencing the "grassiness" that other smokers talk about but this time I think I did... go me. The flavor was not unpleasent but it was so scant it almost seemed like a lost cause to keep smoking. The draw was easy. I smoked half of it before the flavor got satisfying and befor long it was starting to dip. It wasn't a Bad smoke.....but it wasn't a great one either. In the future I might try the maduro but I'm not eager for another natural Gispert.
