Review Notes: I am decidedly underwhelmed by the Don Carlos line, and this was no exception. Attractive torpedo shape with a milk chocolate wrapper with a medium-sized vein running up the side. Solid construction without soft spots. Almost nonexistent prelight aroma. Easy light. Even burn without the need for relights or corrections. Smooth draw. Solid cylinder of white ash. Tons of billowy smoke. I usually would course through the flavor profile in thirds at this point, but instead I can sum it up by saying this is a one-dimensional cigar with a predominantly woody taste (sweetish cedar, of sorts) and paper. It never opened up and it never developed any more complexity. The construction was definitely the highpoint, and there is something to be said for that, but for the $$, it was very disappointing. Wouldn't buy more.
