Review Notes: I'm a budget minded cigar smoker, and the Flor de Oliva line seems to be the golden option. I've had the Gold and Maduro, but received this stubby torpedo with an Oliva sampler. Boy, was I surprised by it's overall goodness. I've been hunting for a shorter smoke to survive those days of extreme weather, and this is the guy. The construction is excellent. The ash held on for a good two inches. Take the band off, and you'd swear you had an expensive cigar. The flavors were excellent (won't attempt the nutty, earthy, fruity flavor thing), and I think the complexity of flavors comes from the Sumatran wrapper. It strikes a nice tasteful balance between the Gold and Maduro. The Petit Torpedo is a little harder to find and isn't much different in price from the Torpedo. So I'm going for the extra inch the Torpedo provides, and if I need to toss it before I reach the end, I'll pretend it was a Petit to begin with.
