Review Notes: The best word to describe the flavor of this cigar is “earthy”. Other possible descriptions – such as “grassy” or “mossy” – don’t seem to fit quite right. The cigar is wrapped twice: the outermost layer is contemporary Connecticut Shade, and the inner layer is the same leaf aged eighteen years. The resulting flavor is quite potent and extremely pleasant. At no point was the flavor overwhelming. In fact, the cigar is rather mild, but the smoke is so unique that it erases any thought of blandness. The flavor is clearly old, but not remotely stale or rotten. This cigar is immensely pleasurable and well constructed, burning evenly and displaying a light gray ash. Cusano’s patience and attention to detail have paid off with extreme dividends.
