Review Notes: I'm yet to smoke the majority of the Pepin-inspired range of cigars, but what I have tried I've really enjoyed. Thus, I thought I'd try out this cigar, which is among his most affordable offerings. Unfortunately, I did not find an value gem with this one. The flavor was harsh and undesirable from the get-go, and, at best, was less than memorable. The draw was exceedingly tight from the get go, so I used a paper clip to loosen it, but this only marginally helped. The burn was somewhat uneven, and it was a hastle just to keep the cigar lit. I don't know if this is attributable to the medium filler in this cigar, but I would suggest that anyone wanting to try a Pepin blend look to either the higher end smokes--like the Padilla Miami 8/11--the medium priced cigars--like the 601 series--or even the similarly priced Just For Retails. All are far superior to this cigar.
