Review Notes:
Seems from all the reviews on here there are very mixed opinions on this smoke. I got this stick from a box pass nearly a year ago, and the cello was already slightly yellowed upon arrival, leading me to believe that when I grabbed it from the humidor tonight, it had a decent amount of age on it. This cigar is so dark I assumed it to be a maduro before logging on to Top25. The wrapper appeared somewhat hastily applied, with an ugly cap to top it off. It appears to have been subjected to a lack-luster box press, leaving it somewhere between rectangular and diamond in shape. Contrary to reviewers who wrote that their stick was too soft, mine was overly firm. That said, this stick burned almost perfectly, never required a relight or touch-up, and held about 2 inches of ash twice. The first half of the cigar was wonderfully mellow and smooth, but medium bodied, and I really enjoyed it. About halfway in, the flavor changed and it became increasingly strong. Unfortunately, as this occurred, it also began to leave an unwanted aftertaste that I have experienced with other cigars, and which I often describe as "stale tobacco flavor," much like you would get from a cigar that goes out, is left alone for an extended period of time, then is re-torched and smoked. Unfortunately, this drops the cigar to average in my book, and leaves me with a bit of a headache. I would describe this cigar as medium to full in terms of power, as it definitely has a slight nicotine punch that can sneak up on you.
