Review Notes: It's been about two years since my last review of the Black Pearl Cobre robusto and since then it has become my every day cigar. When I say every day cigar I mean every day cigar-I smoke 2 or 3 a day and have done so for over a year now. My first impression (as you can read in my 2005 review below) was that it was a bit on the spicy side-and so it was. I liked it, though and began stockpiling these on the cheap from CBid. I noticed after a month or so in the humi these things settled down a bit and became quite smooth so I started aging some and have to say these cigars truly get better with age. I've been smoking some that have been aging in my humi for about 15 months and they are delicious. If you're patient you can get these at auction for about $2 or less (I've picked them up for as low as $1.50). At that price this cigar is a no brainer. It's got a beautiful, oily Ecuadorian wrapper that is sheer chomping pleasure; perfect draw that allows clouds of billowing smoke and a bit of sweetness on the palate. Spicy? Yes, but what the hell do you expect from a Nicaraguan?

Review Notes: I just got a box of 20 and smoked my first one. SPICY! Especially on the light up. It did settle down a bit and smooth out but this little cigar is definitely not for the weak. Excellent construction, Perfect draw and lots of smoke and flavor with a peppery finish. A Must try for the guy who likes 'em spicy.
