Review Notes:
This is the other box in the deal I mentioned when I reviewed the 747 maduro. I bought two boxes for $50 each, one of the best bargains I ever purchased. A very attractive golden wrapper, with several noticeable veins of different sizes, some protruding right out of the wrapper leaf. Nice roll, slightly uneven burn, but not a problem, and great draw. A nice change of pace flavor, due to the rather unique blend of Honduran binder, with Honduran and Nicaraguan blended filler. The wrapper is an Ecuador, and judging from the flavor, I venture to guess a Connecticut seed.
Mild to medium, with a creamy texture which is smooth on the palate. Delicious overtones of bread and grassy grain, with a complexity of subtle undertones ranging from spice to nuts, perhaps fruit and coffee with extra heavy cream and a dash of French vanilla. The body picks up in volume about half way into the burn, becoming medium to almost full, but it does not lose a bit of the silky smooth texture. I score the value at 10, because of the dollar per stick price I scored these at. However, even if one pays the retail of approximately $2.50 ...(they come in a box of 50) ... it would still be a fine value. These Connecticut wrapped, creamy types of cigars have always been among my favorites. I recommend giving these a try.
