Review Notes:
Pound for pound, JR Alts are one of the best bargain bundle cigars available. I have smoked at least 30 different varieties, and out of every 10 cigars I smoke, perhaps one is not quite up to par. Well worth the gamble, considering they average just above a dollar per stick (bundle price.) And they (JR) are quite often running some kind of deal, either money off, or a free bonus. This "Bolivar" tastes good. Slight problem with the wrapper, but not bad enough to impede the enjoyment. I got well over my dollars worth. The Dominican Alts are the better of the batch, IMHO. The "Dunhill" is 80 to 85% comparable to the real thing, and costs about 85% less in price, so you do the math. I have smoked top shelf, EXPENSIVE cigars ... Cubans, Padron Millenniums and CAO Millenniums, and such. My point is, I have no problem enjoying a JR Alt every now and then, and I recommend trying a few. Especially for those on a strict budget. A very good buy. And no, I don't work for JR nor am I friends with Lew Rothman, although I have sent him an e mail stating how I enjoy his products. LOL
