Review Notes: I bought a box back in 2001, first year issue of a new blend. Wrapper looks a bit rough, reminded me a little of an Ashton aged maduro wrapper. I was wondering why it tasted different than most cigars ... a bit strange ... but good. I checked Perelman's, and these XXO's have a Connecticut maduro wrapper, with Dominican binder, and Dominican, Honduran, and Nicaraguan filler. A rather unique blend. Fairly complex, a grainy, toasty, with hints of espresso flavor mix. A bit difficult to explain or describe. Excellent roll, draw, and dead even burn. A medium smooth body. I suggest to pick one up and give this different type smoke a try. I may have to call this a "Howard Cosell" type of cigar. One may either love these, or hate these. I happen to like them on occasion. I wouldn't make them a regular everyday smoke, but nice when in the mood for something a little different. A nice change of pace.
